HŠK Zrinjski Mostar može službeno potvrditi imenovanje Željka Petrovića novim šefom stručnog stožera prve momčadi, a 58-godišnji stručnjak i aktualni prvak danas su potpisali ugovor do 1. lipnja 2025. godine.
Novi trener Plemića rođen je 1965. godine u Nikšiću, a nakon bogate igračke karijere ostao je živjeti u Nizozemskoj gdje je nakon usavršavanja počeo trenersku karijeru kao asistent Ruuda Gullita na klupi Feyenoorda. Samostalno je vodio nizozemske klubove RKC Waalwijk, ADO Den Haag i Willem II, a radio je još u Portugalu (Boavista FC), Japanu (Urawa Red Diamonds), Bugarskoj (Botev Plovdiv) i Hrvatskoj (Inter).
Veliki dio trenerske karijere proveo je kao asistent renomiranim Nizozemcima – prvo Gullitu na startu karijere, a zatim Martinu Jolu na klupi HSV-a, Guusu Hiddinku s kojim je surađivao u ruskom Anžiju i najduže Dicku Advocaatu s kojim je radio u Sunderlandu, Utrechtu i Feyenoordu te na klupama reprezentacija Srbije i Iraka.
U Engleskoj je radio i kao asistent Izraelcu Avramu Grantu u West Hamu, a posljednji angažman imao je u aktualnoj sezoni u turskom klubu Adana Demirspor u kojem je bio u stručnom stožeru još jednog Nizozemca Patricka Kluiverta.
Mario Ivanković, koji je vodio Plemiće u završnici jeseni, ostaje u stručnom stožeru kao prvi asistent glavnog trenera, a paralelno će zadržati i svoju funkciju u stožeru A reprezentacije BiH, dok će Petroviću u radu pomagati još Nenad Gagro (pomoćni trener), Romeo Mitrović (trener vratara), Marko Čavka (kondicijski trener) i Filip Lekić (analitičar).
Službeno predstavljanje Željka Petrovića održat će se sutra u 12 sati.
